Emergency pick-up

Stuck in post-production hell?

Tell us what’s happened, and if we can help, we will. Calmly.

The 9 circles of hell

  1. The offline doesn’t match the online. Shots are missing, wrong, or mysteriously different from the approved edit.
  2. Mixed frame rates. 23.976, 25, 29.97, variable frame rate phone footage… playback judder, sync drift, weird retiming and frame-blending artefacts.
  3. The grade looks nothing like the reference. The approved look has vanished, shots don’t match, or the image is suddenly too dark, too green or too contrasty.
  4. Strange colour artefacts. Banding, macroblocking, posterisation, magenta/green flashes, clipped highlights or bizarre colour shifts.
  5. Offline media goes missing. Relink fails, source files are unavailable, proxies don’t match camera originals, or a crucial shot is suddenly offline.
  6. The wrong version gets conformed. An old edit, missing revision, incorrect shot, or superseded VFX makes it into the final master.
  7. VFX shots don’t fit. Wrong handles, mismatched framing, incorrect colour space, visible seams, missing elements or an unapproved temp shot in the final.
  8. Audio sync goes rogue. Dialogue drifts, audio is offset, the wrong mix is used, or the final export has a sync error.
  9. Titles, credits and subtitles are wrong. Typos, bad spelling, incorrect names, missing captions, unsafe positioning or credits that don’t match the approved version.

Post-production emergency?

It happens. We once got a call to make a DCP at 11pm and it played in cinema the following day. We’d do it again.
